Gemenc and Szekszárd
Gemenc is the largest floodplain forest in Central Europe. The area is under nature conservation, as it provides a habitat for a rich wildlife. Besides herds of deer, wild boars, eagles, jackals, beavers, and herons, we can also encounter the black storks hiding here. The meeting point of the forest and the river provides an excellent habitat, as it nourishes and protects.
The region is part of the Duna-Dráva National Park. During spring floods, the Danube floods over 180 square kilometers of area, making it a rarity to paddle through it in a canoe!
…A TYPICAL DAY
We arrive in Pörböly and check in with our tour guides. Afterwards, the guides provide us with a briefing on the daily program and activities, as well as explain the basic rules. After the boat schedule, we set off on our paddling adventure.
We explore one of Hungary’s most valuable and wildest nature reserves from our canoes. We paddle into the well-known Csertai-Duna branch, and then test our canoeing skills in the Vén-Dunai gorge.
Upon returning to our starting point, we enjoy a warm lunch and head to a popular winery in Szekszárd. This location is suitable for hosting further extra programs that will make this weekend even more unforgettable.
Extra programs for an unforgettable experience
While canoe tours are very entertaining and exciting, our customers often want to further enhance their experience. Fortunately, we can provide high-quality services not only in water sports, but also in other areas.
